A local elementary school in Zion, Illinois is seeking a compassionate and student-focused School Social Worker or School Counselor to join their support team
About the Role:
The selected candidate will work closely with teachers, administrators, and families to support students social-emotional and behavioral development. Youll play a key part in identifying needs, developing interventions, and ensuring every child has access to the tools they need to thrive.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide individual and group counseling for students in need of emotional or behavioral support
Collaborate with teachers and staff to implement intervention strategies
Conduct social-emotional screenings and assessments as appropriate
Participate in IEP or MTSS meetings as part of the student support team
Serve as a liaison between school, home, and community resources
Promote a safe, inclusive, and supportive school climate
Qualifications:
Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with School Social Worker or School Counselor endorsement
Previous school-based experience strongly preferred
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Passion for supporting elementary-aged students through proactive, student-centered strategies
